"Today's meeting revolves around both sad and significant events," said Sahiba Gafarova, Speaker of the Milli Majlis (Parliament) of the Republic of Azerbaijan at today's meeting of the Parliament, APA reports.
She emphasized that 28 years have passed since the occupation of Shusha, the cultural center of Azerbaijan, by the Armenian Armed Forces: "Invasion of Shusha was the next stage of Armenian military aggression aimed at departing Nagorno-Karabakh region from Azerbaijan and annexation of to Armenia and the expelling local Azerbaijanis from their ancestral lands."
