The Interior Ministry has warned citizens about accounts that deceive people by opening fake accounts on social networks in the name of the country's leadership, APA reports.

The head of the press service of the Interior Ministry, police colonel Ehsan Zahidov said that fake accounts were created on social networks in the name of the country's leadership and the addresses of various sites were shared on those accounts with paid advertising:

"When people access these addresses, they are directed to advertising sites and asked for registration and card information. In this way, attempts are made to steal the card information of users who enter their information. In this regard, the Interior Ministry and other relevant government agencies have launched an investigation. The Interior Ministry urges our citizens not to believe in such fake accounts and to be vigilant when using social networks. "
