“I believe that these parliamentary elections will be remembered as the elections based on democratic grounds in South Caucasus …”, said Asli Kazimova, candidate of Azerbaijan Social Welfare Party over Imishli-Beylagan constituency #80.

She said the propaganda and promotion works are already nearing the end: “It is gratifying that we have completed the election campaign on the basis of democratic principles. Therefore I express my gratitude to my voters. I thank every resident of my native country and hamlet. They met me with such sincerity and opened doors of their houses to me with so much love and care, that I felt that I am not alone. I grew stronger with every meeting with my voters. I joined every meeting alone but I united with my voters in terms of common ideas and I parted with them having become stronger as a single fist. Do you know the cause of this? The cause is that I am the daughter of that native land. I said this in the meetings with them as well. I have been kneaded with soil and mud of those lands. I am familiar with the problems in every village and every span of soil in those lands. If I am elected an MP, firstly I will do my best to solve those problems. This is at least not an empty promise because the problem voiced by them is firstly my personal problem.

There were also moments during my pre-election campaign when I was deeply moved and even couldn’t cope with my tears sometimes. In some cases, I was confused when visiting the martyrs’ families. I felt shy to look into the faces of those mothers and family members left without housefathers. And especially when I saw infant children left without father. I was very sad when witnessing that our war veteran having lost his eyes for the sake of Motherland couldn’t see the faces of his children. But in some cases, I had joyful moments as well. I rejoiced very much every time when I saw the face of my every voter looking at me hopefully. I felt proud of having such rural residents of my country who greeted me with love and care. My heart filled with pride feeling when I heard the blessing of elder people, old men and women. During this pre-election campaign I once again felt proud of being an Azerbaijani because my people, my voters are very fair!”.

Asli Kazimova who managed to visit one by one and individually the martyrs’ families, war veterans, infant children, mothers of many children, elder people needing care also said she will come up with statement regarding the election in the nearest future. She said the statement will also reflect the problems noted by residents during the meetings: “I have come to a conclusion that before expiry of the pre-election campaign I should mention all these problems in my statement for the sake of being the voice of my voters whose concerns and problems I learned during my propaganda and promotion campaign…”.
