Roundtable meeting titled “Inadmissibility of outside interference in political processes in Azerbaijan” held - UPDATED - PHOTOSESSİON

A roundtable meeting titled “Inadmissibility of outside interference in political processes in Azerbaijan” is being held with the participation of a number of political parties, non-governmental organizations and media representatives operating in Azerbaijan, APA reports.

Deputy Prime Minister, Deputy Chairman and Executive Secretary of the ruling New Azerbaijan Party Ali Ahmadov, the chairman of the Azerbaijan Democratic Party (ADP) Sardar Jalaloglu, chairman of Azerbaijani People's Party Panah Huseyn, chairman of Whole Azerbaijan Popular Front Party Gudrat Hasanguliyev, Chairman of Motherland Party Fazail Agamali, Chairman of Great Establishment Party Fazil Mustafa, acting chairman of Azerbaijan National Independence Party Arzukhan Alizadeh, Chairman of Citizen and Development Party Ali Aliyev, MPYO chairman Tural Abbaslı, NGO leaders, media representatives attend the event.

Opening the event, the chairman of the “Ana Veten” party, MP of Azerbaijani Milli Majlis Fazail Aghamali said that those who leave Azerbaijan either this or other reason, demonstrating anarchist position, called the immigration opposition, unstable, weak people are fighting against Azerbaijan: “These people create an atmosphere of despair trying to set a sense of fear in people. They say that a tunnel has been opened from Armenia to Ganja, humiliating the opposition in Azerbaijan, declare themselves true opposition, serve the interests of Armenia. The state continues to do its work, this is its responsibility. Speaking with a sense of this responsibility, we must show our will, be close to the Azerbaijani statehood. ”

Deputy Chairman-Executive Secretary of the NAP, Deputy Prime Minister Ali Ahmadov in his speech noted that in practice there have been cases of interference in the internal affairs of individual countries. According to him, these cases are more common during certain political processes and elections: “All political processes taking place in the country can be implemented only by the will of the country's citizens. All countries have these standards. In recent years, appeared people who, as migrants abroad, act against Azerbaijan. After the number of subscribers reaches several million, the Youtube channel gives the opportunity to earn money. Getting financial opportunities through several tens of thousands of viewers is a lie. These are tools to hide the source of funds received.”

Chairman of the opposition Citizens and Development Party Ali Aliyev in his speech said that relations between the government and the opposition in Azerbaijan are at a zero level: “I propose to establish a dialogue between the government and all political parties. There is a very great need for this. I believe that today's discussion should not be based on migrants living abroad. Because the reason that they are involved in politics outside the country is the lack of such an opportunity in Azerbaijan.”

He proposed in the near future to hold early parliamentary elections in the country: “On the eve of municipal elections this year, the status of municipalities should be considered, and then normal municipal elections should be held.”

A. Aliyev also proposed expanding the joint contacts between the authorities and the opposition with the public: “We form a single structure, go to the districts, hold meetings with the public.”

The chairman of the People’s Party of Azerbaijan, Panah Huseyn, said in his speech that it was necessary to invite all representatives of socio-political circles to today's round table.

He expressed dissatisfaction with the attitude of the ruling authorities towards the opposition and public organizations: “When developing the draft reforms in the country, we invited the functionaries of the NAP - Ali Ahmadov, Siyavush Novruzov, Aydin Mirzazade to discuss, and in return we saw a zero reaction. We offered to hold discussions at the NAP headquarters but again showed indifference to us. Therefore, the current situation arose. It is necessary to open the door for alternative utterances. It is necessary to deepen the socio-economic reforms in the country. If political reforms are not implemented at the same time, then there will be no effect.”

Huseyn urged parties, individual forces to unite for Azerbaijan: “I believe that all national forces in Azerbaijan, regardless of who they represent - the ruling power or the opposition, can unite and lead the country forward, I want to say that I’m ready to support this process.”

He noted that it is necessary to eliminate the aggression of the ruling authorities in relation to the opposition. P. Huseyn noted that in the case of deepening reforms he will support the government.

Gudrat Hasanguliyev, chairman of the United Popular Front Party of Azerbaijan, said in his speech that today there are certain shortcomings and problems in Azerbaijan: “I believe that discussions should be held in connection with these shortcomings and steps should be taken to deepen reforms. I think it should be intolerant towards opposition-controlled from abroad. If you remember, in the presidential election, Rustam Ibrahimbeyov came to Azerbaijan. Everyone knew what his purpose was. Gathered around him. Moreover, they wrote a letter of praise to Putin and asked for support. What happened in the end? We have already been through this.”

G. Hasanguliyev noted that recently the most active propagandist Ali Kerimli in the USA, former head of the PFPA international relations department Gorkhmaz Askerov wrote an article “Ayının əmisioğlu” (“Bear’s cousin”): “In his article, he said that the PFPA defended the presidential election Etibar Mammadov on the recommendation of the National Institute of Democracy. If some political force orders the political party to support the candidate, this is a direct intervention in the country's domestic politics. We are against such precedents.”

The chairman of the Great Creation Party, MP Fazil Mustafa, said that the most sensitive point of Azerbaijan is the religious opposition: “The main problem of the country is the security problem. Today we must try so that Azerbaijan does not suddenly find itself in the position of Syria, Libya. Therefore, political forces must not allow chaos to occur. ”

According to him, the dialogue between the ruling authorities and the opposition should be systemic: "I think the leadership of the NAP will support this initiative, and problems should be discussed periodically."

Human rights activist Novella Jafaroglu noted that in the country it is necessary to fight officials who allow illegal actions: “They cast a shadow on the president’s reforms. I will give an example. President Ilham Aliyev signed a decree on the issue of compensation to employees of the burned-out Diglas shopping center. But some individuals still do not pay this money. We received appeals in connection with this.”

N. Jafaroglu noted that Azerbaijan was constantly under pressure because of the question of political prisoners: "Let these people be released so that they do not slander our country because of them."

Chairman of the Azeri Turk Women's Union Tanzilya Rustamkhanli stated that she has repeatedly participated in many events in Europe: “Once in Brussels, we were at an event called the Karabakh Conference. There were opponents of Serge Sargsyan. They discussed the Karabakh problem and the "Armenian genocide", opposed Azerbaijan. I don’t want to give a name, but among them was an Azerbaijani who, during the discussions on Karabakh, opposed the Azerbaijani authorities, did not say a word about Karabakh. ”

The event continued with discussions, and a statement was adopted as a result.

The chairman of the Musavat party Arif Hajili and the chairman of the Classical Party of the Popular Front Mirmahmud Miralioglu were invited to the event, but they did not participate in it.
