Meeting of working group on unmarked areas of Azerbaijani-Georgian border held - UPDATED

On August 19, a working meeting of the experts of the State Commissions on Delimitation and Demarcation of the State Border between the Republic of Azerbaijan and Georgia was held, APA reports citing Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The sides discussed the process of delimitation and expressed their positions on areas that are not agreed yet. It is planned to carry out fieldwork, joint measurements in the areas that are not agreed yet and inspections in these sites. On August 19-23, the experts will conduct a joint review of various areas and plan works for the next stage to review other areas that are not yet agreed upon.

Working group on unmarked areas of Azerbaijani-Georgian border around Keshikchidagh monastery complex has held a meeting , APA’s local bureau reports citing public television of Georgia.

Sides discussed the progress of the delimitation process and discrepancies in positions. Work on field works – joint research and their investigations at the unmarked areas are planned in the meeting.

According to the Georgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on August 19-23, the commission's experts plan to conduct joint work on separate sites and visit unmarked areas.
