Azerbaijan’s CEC announces campaigning time-frame for presidential election
Azerbaijan’s Central Election Commission (CEC) has announced the time-frame allotted to presidential candidates for campaigning.
The submission to the Central Election Commission of election documents required for presidential candidacy registration for the upcoming extraordinary presidential election will continue until at most 50 days and at least 30 days prior to the voting day, from February 27 to March 12, 18.00, APA reports.
In accordance with the CEC-approved Calendar Plan of main actions and measures for the preparation and conduct of extraordinary presidential election, applications for the observation of the election all over Azerbaijan must be submitted to the CEC from the moment the decision on the election enters into effect to 10 days prior to the voting day, by 1 April.
Applications on the conduct of observations in electoral districts can be submitted to election commissions from the moment the decision on the election enters into effect to 5 days prior to the voting day, by 6 April.
Verification of voter lists will be conducted before March 7, that is, not later than 35 days before the voting day.
Pre-election campaigning starts 23 days prior to voting day and ends 24 hours prior to the start of voting. Thus, the campaigning will start on March 19 and end at 08:00 on April 10.
