At a meeting of the Azerbaijani parliament on Friday, MP Gudrat Hasanguliyev voiced concern over some witness testimonies challenging the government, stressing that no legal action is being taken against them despite this fact, APA reported.

“In their testimonies, witnesses sometimes overtly talk about how much they embezzled or committed other offences while in power. Regrettably, our judicial system does nothing about it. This, in turn, leads to people losing their trust in court’s justice,” he said.

The MP also added that cases of acquittal have diminished throughout the country, noting that this trend is worrying.
