Azerbaijani president: 2018 will be a year of rapid development

The year 2018 will be a year of rapid development in Azerbaijan, President Aliyev said addressing the 6th Congress of the New Azerbaijan Party (YAP) on Thursday, APA reports.

"Our greatest value is our independence and the founder of our independence is national leader Heydar Aliyev,” the president said.

Noting that Azerbaijan is successfully following this path, President Aliyev said the improvement of the living conditions of internally displaced persons will be the focus of attention in the coming years.

The head of state said that the sustainable development of the country's economy in the future is linked with the non-oil sector.

President Aliyev expressed confidence that 2018 would be a year of rapid development.

Speaking about the importance of the global projects involving Azerbaijan, especially the Southern Gas project, the head of state underlined that the country's economic power and resources have strengthened the country’s political independence.
