A draft constitutional law “On the possibility of the implementation by the Republic of Azerbaijan of the decision of an interstate body for the protection of human rights and freedoms” will be tabled again at the parliament’s 2018 spring session again, APA reported.

The discussion of the draft constitutional law has been postponed for two years.

Azerbaijan is a member of bodies on the protection of human rights and freedoms under the UN, OSCE, Council of Europe, European Court on Human Rights and other international organizations.

For the first time, the draft law was tabled and approved at the meeting of the parliamentary Committee on Legal Policy and State Building on March 17, 2016. However, it was decided that according to the legislation, the document could be recommended for consideration at a parliamentary plenary session after receiving the votes of at least 63 MPs.
