Head of OSCE PA observation mission monitors voting process in Azerbaijan

Head of the election observation mission of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, Swiss MP Margret Kiener Nellen observed the voting process in Azerbaijan’s presidential election at polling station No. 18 of Nasimi-Sabail Constituency, APA reports.

 

The OSCE PA mission will also be observing the voting process at other polling stations.

 

Nilza de Sena (MP, Portugal), special co-ordinator and head of the short-term OSCE mission, also observed the voting process in Azerbaijan.  

 

Voting in Azerbaijan’s presidential election started at 08:00.

 

Eight candidates are participating in the election. Six candidates were nominated from political parties, one is self-nominated, and one candidate nominated from the Initiative Group.

 

Web cameras were installed in 1,000 polling stations in 119 electoral districts.

 

Moreover, 894 international and 58,175 local observers monitor the election.

 

The voting will end at 19:00.
