Azerbaijan’s dynamic development was provided after 2013. We managed to build a strong state. Today, Azerbaijan is a country pursuing independent policy, said Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.
The president made the remarks at an official reception on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic at the Heydar Aliyev Center in Baku on May 28, APA reports.
The head of state said that there are not many such country in the world map: ‘We pursue completely independent policy. Our policy is based on the national interests. Azerbaijani people’s interests are source of our policy. The ability to influence our policy from outside is equal to zero. There are many such efforts. Because we are pursuing principal policy. This policy is supported and defended by Azerbaijani people’.
President Aliyev noted that Azerbaijan is strengthens its position and has an influence in the international arena: ‘Number of countries cooperating with us is increasing. We chaired the UN Security Council for two times. We’ll begin to chair the Non-Aligned Movement next year. We are closely cooperating with all other leading international organizations, are member of some of them. The world community respect Azerbaijan. Today, Azerbaijan has a strong position in the world map’.
