There were no restrictions on international observers during the April 11 presidential election in Azerbaijan, Franco Orsi, member of Italy’s observation mission, said in Baku on April 12, APA reports.

He noted that the election in Azerbaijan was held in a calm environment.

"There was no interference by local authorities or the police during the elections. Voting booths were properly positioned to ensure confidentiality and the ballot boxes were sealed. We highly appreciate the installation of web cameras at polling stations,” the Italian observer said.

He pointed out that there was high voter turnout in the election.

In general, Italian observers said that the presidential election in Azerbaijan was calm, free and transparent.
