Mubariz Gurbanli: Azerbaijan’s steps against religious extremists – signal to their financial backers
- 26 October 2017
The operation carried out by the State Security Service of Azerbaijan against religious extremists should become a signal to circles that finance them, Mubariz Gurbanli, chairman of the State Committee for Work with Religious Organizations, said on Thursday, APA reported.
In Gurbanli's opinion, these circles should understand that Azerbaijani law enforcement authorities are always ready to protect our citizens, as well as our state security and social-political stability.
"They will never fail to prevent such acts of violence. I’m convinced that such operations a necessity. We should be decisive against those who want to commit terrorist acts and join radical religious groups in order to undermine public-political stability in Azerbaijan. We must publicly condemn them and expose them to the public,” he added.
On Wednesday, three members of a religious extremist terrorist organization who had been preparing to commit terrorist acts in Baku were killed a operation conducted by the State Security Service in Khirdalan.
