Christian Strohal urges the government to implement commitments

“Azerbaijan has great opportunities to hold serious reforms in dialogue with the OSCE. Azerbaijan gained achievements in endurance, fighting against trafficking, trainings for police and judges and other fields. It proves that we can gain further achievements�, said Director of OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights Christian Strohal, Baku Office of the OSCE told APA.
He also urged the government to implement the commitments and recommendations of the OSCE. Touching upon the issue of human rights, he said that abuse of power by the police negatively affects the frredom of media.
“Dialogue among authorities, political parties and civil society is not only desirable but necessary for achieving these goals. Together with the authorities and the OSCE Office in Baku, we look forward to supporting such a dialogue in the coming year," he said. /APA/
