Azerbaijan starts to relocate residents of Aghali village of Zangilan to their homes-PHOTO -UPDATED

The first stage of the resettlement of the population to Aghali village, which was rebuilt based on the concept of a "smart village" in Zangilan district, started from the residential complex built for internally displaced persons in Masazir village of Absheron district, State Committee for Affairs of Refugees and Internally Displaced Persons told APA.

Committee Chairman Rovshan Rzayev, Special Representative of the President of Azerbaijan Vahid Hajiyev in Zangilan District, which is part of Eastern Zangezur Economic District, and Ramiz Hasanov, Head of Zangilan District Executive Authority, attended the farewell ceremony of the first families who moved to Aghali village.

In the first phase, 41 families will be relocated to Yeni Aghali village.

At the initial stage, resettled families were selected from among those living in the most difficult conditions in temporary settlements, and at this time, the size of the residential areas provided for resettlement was taken into account. Residents of First, Second and Third Aghali villages are among the displaced.

The distribution of houses was carried out by lottery based on the currently valid rules for providing new residential areas to internally displaced persons, based on the principles of transparency and fairness.

Pensioners, students, housewives, engineers, sellers-cashiers, security guards, gardeners, agronomists, teachers, doctors, people engaged in small business activities, etc. there are personnel specialized in the fields of service, health and education. The resettled families were offered jobs suitable for their professions.

According to the current legislation, IDPs will be able to take advantage of the social protection measures determined by the state for three years after returning to their permanent residence.

Today, the resettlement of the residents of Aghali village, rebuilt on the basis of the "smart village" concept, in the Great Return to the liberated territories of Azerbaijan - Zangilan district, is starting, APA reports.

Before the occupation, this administrative area united 3 villages.

In that period, 40 families (154 people) lived in the First Aghali, 60 families (245 people) in the Second Aghali, and 161 families (675 people) in the Third Aghali. Currently, the total number of families from these villages is 352 (1504 people).

In the first phase, 41 families will be relocated to Yeni Agalı village.

Note that on May 27 this year, the opening ceremony of the first stage of the Smart Village project was held in the village of Aghali, Zangilan region. President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva attended the ceremony.

The Center for State Services was established on the rural square. The district branch of Azerpost LLC, the ASAN xidmət center, the DOST center, the Center for the Development of Small and Medium Business will work here.

In the village of Aghali, modern urban planning standards have been applied. Factors such as smart street lighting, construction of warm and cold-resistant ecological houses, household waste management, installation of solar panels are integral parts of this concept.

The village will also have a Family Health Center, a kindergarten, and a village secondary school.
