Chair of the Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova had a meeting with the leader of the Türkiye-Azerbaijan Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group of the GNAT Şamil Ayrım on 2 February, APA reports citing the Press and Public Relations Department of the Milli Majlis.
The high standards set by the relations between the brotherly states were mentioned at the conversation. It was said that there were no other countries as close to each other anywhere else in the world. Speaker Gafarova made a point of accentuating the role of the fine relationship between the two states’ leaders in the continuous broadening of the Azerbaijani-Turkish co-operation and said she was certain that our friendship and fraternity would continue on their course of success and progress.
Our inter-parliamentary connexions, too, are advancing in the spirit of the inter-state amity and brotherhood; both the Azerbaijani and the Turkish parliaments co-operate bilaterally as well as in international organisations. We support each other’s stances relying on the fruitful interaction amongst Azerbaijani and Turkish parliamentarians on international platforms, according to Mrs Gafarova.
Opinions were then voiced as to the importance of experience exchange between the two states’ legislatures.
Also, the Speaker of the Milli Majlis updated the Turkish MP on the current situation in our region and the work being done to restore and revive the Azerbaijani provinces delivered from occupation.
Other matters of shared interest and concern were talked over too as the conversation continued.
