Monitoring group reveals issues that discussed with commander of Russian peacekeepers: Contacts will be continued

As a continuation of the discussions held on December 3, 2022, staff which includes Employees of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources (MENR), the State Service on Property Issues under the Ministry of Economy, and the "AzerGold" Closed Joint Stock Company held meeting with the command of the Russian peacekeeping forces in Khojaly on the illegal exploitation of natural resources, in the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan where the Russian peacekeepers temporarily stationed, and resulting environmental and other secondary consequences, APA reports citing the joint information of the Ministry of Economy and Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources.

It was noted that during the meeting, the issues were discussed regarding the on-site inspection of mineral deposits, especially Gizilbulag gold and Demirli copper-molybdenum deposits, stopping of illegal exploitation, monitoring and inventorying in various directions, organization of cadastral value of the property, assessing of the potential damage and risks inflicted to the environment, underground and surface water sources and elimination of the consequences of the damage.

The meeting was held in a constructive spirit. The relevant contacts will be continued. Additional information will be provided to the public.
