US allocated $32 mln for demining operations in Azerbaijan so far

Director of the Office of Caucasus Affairs and Regional Conflicts in the Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs at the State Department Mark Cameron met with Vugar Suleymanov, chairman of the Agency for Demining Areas of the Republic of Azerbaijan (ANAMA), to discuss the humanitarian mine action assistance provided by the US Mine Advisory Group (MAG), APA reports.

The United States is committed to continuing its partnership with Azerbaijan on clearing deadly landmines and unexploded ordnance. Since 1999, the United States has allocated more than 32.2 million dollars for combating humanitarian landmines in Azerbaijan. These efforts play an important role in strengthening human security in Azerbaijan and peace in the region.
