“Azerbaijani gas saved us. Azerbaijani gas played a big role not only for Romania but also for Europe. What did we do without Azerbaijani gas?”, former Deputy Prime Minister of Romania, Ana Birchall, a member of the Romanian Parliament said at the panel entitled "The role of new energy and transport corridors in the Eurasian zone" within the framework of the X Global Baku Forum on "The World Today: Challenges and Hopes" organized by the Nizami Ganjavi International Center in Baku today (2018-2019), APA reports.
According to her, Azerbaijan’s strategic initiative played an important role for Romania, and Europe in hard times: “I do not know how we will spend the next winter without Azerbaijan’s support. Export of “green energy” from Azerbaijan to Europe, is the initiative of President Ilham Aliyev and this initiative is of great importance. I would like to point out another point. I have been to Shusha, great construction works are underway. I urge you to visit Shusha. President Ilham Aliyev stated that “green energy” would be produced in the liberated areas.”
