Azerbaijan's revenues from main oil pipelines reduced by more than 14%

In January-March of this year, Azerbaijan's revenues from the main oil pipelines made up AZN 267 400,4 thousand, and this is 13,6% less in annual comparison, the State Statistics Committee told APA-Economics.

This figure was AZN 309 395,3 thousand in the relevant period of the previous year.

Note that in the first quarter of the current year, 9,500.8 thousand tons of oil were transported through main oil pipelines. 76.3% of the transportation was carried out through the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil export pipeline (BTC), and 7,244,500 tons of oil were transferred through this pipeline during January-March of the current year.

During the period, 85.9% or 6223.7 thousand tons of oil transported through the BTC pipeline was produced in Azerbaijan, and 14.1% or 1020.8 thousand tons was imported from Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan.

Recall that in 2022 the revenues from the main oil pipelines of Azerbaijan amounted to AZN 1,238,913.7 thousand, which is 3.4% more than 2021.

Last year, 37,781.5 thousand tons of oil were transported through main oil pipelines in Azerbaijan, which is 7.9% more in comparison to the relevant figure of 2021. In 2022, 78.7% of transportation was carried out through the BTC pipeline, 29,749.6 thousand tons of oil were transferred through the pipeline during the reporting period (12.6% more in comparison to the relevant figure of 2021). During the reporting period, 5103.9 thousand tons of transit oil (41.8% more than the previous year) were transported through the BTC pipeline.
