“It may be possible to reach peak production this year in the second stage of development of the Shah Deniz gas-condensate field located in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea,” said BP's vice president for communications and external relations in the Caspian region Bakhtiyar Aslanbeyli told journalists, APA-Economics reports.
According to him, last year, production in Shah Deniz was higher than planned and this increase continues. Currently, the effectiveness of the operations over the field is 99%. Last year, when prices were high, production of volumes in addition to the annual plan meant additional income for both the country and investors.
“This trend will continue this year too and we hope that we will be able to protect the growth rate of the output and finally, during this year we will have an opportunity to reach peak production over Shah Deniz 2 stage,” noted B. Aslanbeyli.
