EIA increases its forecast on oil prices for this year

Energy Information Administration under the US Ministry of Energy has revealed its forecast on the price of oil for 2023, APA-Economics reports citing the monthly report of the EIA.

Price of a barrel of Brent oil is expected to be USD 67,5, while WTI oil to be USD 63,5 next year.

Furthermore, the EIA has increased its outlook on the oil price for this year. Thus, according to calculations of the organization, average price of Brent oil will be USD 74,95 in 2022, which is USD 4,9 more in comparison with the previous outlook. According to suppose, average price of WTI oil will be USD 71,32 in the current year, which is also USD 4,9 more in comparison with the previous outlook.

It is noted that the average price of Brent was USD 70,89 last year (previous forecast USD 70,6), while WTI was USD 68,211 (previous forecast USD 67,87).

In general, we can conclude that EIA supposes a decrease in oil prices.
