"The Southern Gas Corridor concept would not have been possible without the political support of Türkiye and Azerbaijan," said Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Fatih Donmez at the 9th Southern Gas Corridor Advisory Council Ministerial Meeting held in Baku, APA reports.
"In this regard, Türkiye is the most suitable route and the most reliable port to increase the supply security of the EU. Türkiye has proven its reliability with its infrastructure investments and successes in international projects," Fatih Donmez said.
Emphasizing that the implementation of the Southern Gas Corridor and the flow of commercial gas to Europe is an important step, Fatih Donmez said: "We need additional reserves and additional source countries to increase the volume of gas. In this context, we are ready to develop our cooperation with Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan for the sake of the well-being of our region".
