Gazprom says requests for Russian gas supplies via Ukraine increased

"Russia's Gazprom continues to transit gas through Ukraine to Europe, and supplies remain high level," said Gazprom spokesman Sergey Kupriyanov, APA-Economics reports.

According to him, the company regularly transports gas through Ukraine following the requests from European consumers.

According to the appeals today, the volume of gas for transportation in this direction makes 98.9 million cubic meters, which is 0.5% more than on May 4 (98.4 million cubic meters).

Notably, Gazprom's contractual obligations for transit to Ukraine by 2022 stand at 40 billion cubic meters or about 109.5-109.6 million cubic meters per day.
