Kazakhstan plans starting transport of 1,5 mln ton oil through BTC

Kazakhstan intends to transport 1,5 mln tons of oil through the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline starting next year, said Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Alikhan Smailov, APA reports.

"Especially, we have an agreement on transporting 1,5 mln tons of oil in this direction through BTC from 1st January of the next year and works are underway to make it 6-6,5 mln tons," stressed PM.

According to him, a special road map has been prepared within the framework of oil export diversification in Kazakhstan. BTC, Baku-Supsa pipeline, railways from Atyrau to Batumi and Uzbekistan, and China are among the directions.

In all these directions, works are currently being carried out in the field of expanding and increasing the oil export potential, said Alikhan Smailov.
