The Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) has reduced the assessment of Azerbaijan's proven natural gas reserves, APA-Economics reports citing OPEC's annual statistical bulletin.
As of late 2021, Azerbaijan’s approved gas reserves made up 1,917 trln. cubic metres, which is 12,86% less in comparison to the end of 2020.
Note that according to the OPEC’s assessments, as of the end of 2020, Azerbaijan’s approved gas reserves made up 2,2 trln cubic metres.
According to the bulletin, according to the results of the previous year, the volume of gas reserves in the world decreased by 0,5% in comparison to 2020, and made up 205,865 trln. cubic metres.
