In January-March this year, Azerbaijan imported 17,102 cars worth 189,354,800 US dollars, which is 19.8% and 10% more than in the same period last year.
According to APA-Economics' calculations based on the report of the State Customs Committee, 15,934 units worth $ 148,734.32 thousand, mainly passenger cars and other motor vehicles, were imported to the country in the first three months of this year, which is is 12% higher in value and number than the same figure in 2021.
Besides, in January-March of this year, the country received 1,012 units worth $ 22,462.44 thousand (32.7% more in value and 19% less in number compared to the same figure in 2021) of motor vehicles for transporting goods, 90 units (more than 50 units) worth $ 10,478.18 thousand (an increase of 2.4 times) motor vehicles designed to carry 10 or more people, including the driver, and 66 units (more than 35 units) special purpose vehicles worth $ 7,679.86 thousand (more than 94%) were imported.
