Azerbaijan lowers sugar exports

In January-March this year, Azerbaijan imported sugar and confectionery products worth $ 40,011.77 thousand.

According to APA-Economics' calculations based on the report of the State Customs Committee, the cost of imports decreased by 10.7% compared to the same period last year.

In the first three months of this year, the share of these products in exports was 1.37%. During the reporting period, the country exported 11,844.65 tons of sugar, which is 33.9% less than in January-March 2021. The value of exported products amounted to 7,641.58 thousand US dollars. The figure is is15.3% less than the same month last year. In the first two months of this year, the share of sugar in total exports was 0.10%, while the share of non-oil exports was 1.05%.
