Azerbaijan ranks among top world's three countries for hazelnut exports

"Azerbaijan ranks among the top three countries in the world for the export of hazelnuts," representative of the Ministry of Agriculture Surkhay Novruzov said at the signing ceremony of the Executive Agreement on cooperation and coordination between the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and Agrarco LLC on cooperation within the project "Acceleration of efficiency and sustainability in the field of hazelnut growing in Azerbaijan., APA-Economics reports.

According to him, hazelnuts have been planted on more than 80,000 hectares in the country, of which 840 hectares were planted last year.

" At present, more than 67,000 tons are harvested from orchards and most of them are exported," Surkhay Novruzov said.
