Nestle is planning to introduce plant-based chocolate chips to its range, the company's United States chief strategy officer Melissa Cash told Axios on Monday, APA reports citing Tele Trader.

In an attempt to attract vegan consumers, the food giant hopes a younger market will also be reached. The product is aimed to be introduced in 2023 and follows Nestle's introduction of dairy-free snacks for people with food allergies.

The ingredients haven't been revealed and Cash said: "As we continue to look to innovate in the plant-based category, baking is an area we're excited to explore."
