The health ministry said Friday that Italy has registered 259 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours, APA reports citing ANSA.
That is down from the 296 new cases reported on Thursday.
It said 30 COVID-19 sufferers have died in the last 24 hours, four fewer than on Thursday, taking the overall death toll up to 34,708.
There are currently 17,638 people known to be infected with the coronavirus here, down 665 on Thursday.
The total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Italy, including the deceased, the recovered and the currently infected, now stands at 239.961.
