The British government is considering a one-time payment of £500 to all citizens who test positive for the coronavirus, APA reports citing Teletrader.
The decision comes amid research claiming that just 17% of people with symptoms consistent with COVID-19 get tested "because they fear losing their income if they stop working."
According to a leaked document written by the Health Department, "wanting to avoid self-isolation is now the biggest reported barrier to requesting a test." The document also suggests that police should have access to the citizens' health data in order to "crack down on quarantine breaches."
