Chinese tourist traveling from Azerbaijan to Georgia have tested negative for coronavirus - UPDATED

Chinese tourists traveling from Azerbaijan to Georgia were not found to be infected with the Wuhan coronavirus, Amiran Gamkrelidze, General Director of National Center for Disease Control and Public Health Center stated, APA’s Georgian bureau reports.

According to her, during the examination, both children were found to be infected with A influenza.

A group of Chinese tourists has been taken to Tbilisi Infectious Diseases Hospital by emergency assistance vehicle in Kazbegi district of Georgia, said Chairman of the Scientific Council of the Georgian National Center for Disease Control Paata Imnadze, APA’s Georgian bureau reports.

He stated their hospitalization was caused by the high temperature of two minors among the tourists: “Chinese tourists came from a zone, located 1300 km far from coronavirus-hit Wuhan and virus has not been found in this region.”

P. Imnadze noted these persons will be relatively examined.
