The European Medicines Agency (EMA) announced on Wednesday that it approved Moderna's COVID-19 vaccine for use in Europe on people from 18 years of age and above, APA reports citing Teletrader.
The agency added the vaccine had been used in a trial involving around 30,000 people in which it showed an efficacy of around 94.1%.
"This vaccine provides us with another tool to overcome the current emergency. It is a testament to the efforts and commitment of all involved that we have this second positive vaccine recommendation just short of a year since the pandemic was declared by WHO," EMA Executive Director Emer Cooke said.
