The European Union will ask the United States to allow coronavirus vaccines made domestically by AstraZeneca to be exported to the bloc, APA reports citing Teletrader.

According to anonymous EU officials, talks on the subject will be held during upcoming discussions on the fight against the virus.

"The EU also wants Washington to ensure the free flow of shipments of crucial vaccine ingredients needed in European production, including for groundbreaking mRNA technology vaccines," the report claimed. Italy recently blocked a shipment of 250,000 AstraZeneca shots to Australia, while France warned it could do the same amid fear of shortages.
