France: 52,518 new cases, 418 deaths from COVID-19

France on Monday reported 52,518 new coronavirus cases, making the highest daily infections since the start of the pandemic in the country, APA reports quoting Anadolu Agency.

Official data showed that 418 people died from the virus, bringing the total death toll to 37,435.

The total number of cases in the country rose to 1.46 million, the highest daily number of cases recorded in the country and Europe since the beginning of the virus.

It was reported that a total of 25,143 people are being treated, including 3,730 in intensive care, and that 877 people have recovered from the virus, bringing the total recoveries to 119,104.

The rate of positive COVID-19 tests in the country rose to 20.6%.

Due to the rapid increase of virus cases, curfews are being applied across France.
