French minister for European Affairs Clement Beaune said on Friday that Paris will use its veto power to block a potential Brexit deal "if it is bad for France.", APA reports citing teletrader.

Beaune stressed that the European Union does not want the United Kingdom to exit without a deal, as that would mean an end to free movement and access to each other's markets.

"I still hope we can have a deal. But I also want to tell our fishermen, our producers, citizens who are listening to us, that we will not accept a deal under bad conditions," the minister told Europe 1. He added that the EU has "always been transparent" about its interests in the trade deal negotiations, but that the UK has been "a little less so."
