The Georgian government has resigned in full, APA's local bureau reports.

Due to the resignation of Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia, the government has resigned in full, while the government will continue to serve until the next Prime Minister is appointed.

According to the law, the country's parliament must show confidence in the new Prime Minister and the composition of the government within two weeks.

Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia is resigning. Gakharia made a statement about this a few minutes ago, APA reports citing Interpressnews.

As Gakharia explained, he considers it wrong to arrest Nika Melia in conditions when there is a danger of political escalation.

According to Gakharia, the reason for his resignation is that he could not reach an agreement with the team about the issue.
