Georgia’s Economy and Sustainable Development Minister Natela Turnava has commented on the news disseminated in Armenia’s mass media regarding the plans to sell Batumi sea port to Armenia, APA's Georgian bureau reports.

The minister said the disseminated news regarding this topic didn’t reflect the truth.

The minister added that Batumi sea port wasn’t owned by state and had been managed by a Kazakh company for a long time.

“This news is completely inaccurate. Batumi port has been managed by a Kazakh company for a long time. We are not informed about Armenia’s interestedness in this port. If such an interest really existed we would have been aware of this. Currently, the port is not owned by state and we can’t sell it”, N. Turnava noted.
