The United Kingdom is likely to have three or four vaccines against COVID-19 at its disposal by the middle of 2021, Chris Whitty, a chief medical officer for England and one of the key members of the country's coronavirus taskforce, said on Wednesday, APA reports citing Teletrader.

Answering MPs' questions in the Parliament, Whitty noted people across the UK will get to choose which vaccine they are willing to receive, adding it would be a "very good problem to have" next year.

The vaccination is set to reduce virus transmission, admissions to hospitals and mortality rate "substantially" and "at some point" it will bring risks caused by the coronavirus down to "something we are prepared to tolerate," he explained.
