Hungary's COVID case count up by record 8,312, deaths up by 172

Hungary has registered 8,312 new coronavirus cases during the past 24 hours, marking the highest daily jump since the start of the pandemic, the country's health authorities unveiled on Thursday, APA reports citing Teletrader.

During the same period, there have been 172 deaths attributed to the virus, which brought Budapest's COVID death toll to 16,497. The number of infections registered since the outbreak's start climbed to 489,172, the data showed.

The Hungarian health workers have administered 1.15 million vaccine doses so far, while some 327,000 people were given the second dose of the jab.
