Johnson said on Monday that there were "significant gaps" in the Brexit trade deal negotiations, but that an agreement was still possible. He reaffirmed Johnson's earlier October 16 deadline for the conclusion of the talks, APA reports citing Teletrader.
"As we enter the final stages of the negotiations with the EU, our focus is on what will take to get a trade deal in place; there remains much to be done," the spokesman said. He added that the European Union "must adopt a more realistic policy position," as well as that the "fundamentals" in the negotiations had not changed.
