Marneuli mayor: "Situation is stable in region, maximum assistance provided to people"

“Although several people have high body temperature, no other symptoms of coronavirus are observed in them”, said the mayor of Marneuli region Zaur Darghalli in his statement to APA.

He said the situation in Marneuli is stable.

“As you know, the state of emergency has been announced in Georgia. Especially, Marneuli and Bolnisi regions have been declared the red zone. We have taken approximately over 40,000 people through initial medical examination. The initial symptoms of coronavirus are checked. I and members of my family have also passed through medical check. Although currently several people have high body temperature, no other symptoms of the virus are observed in them. Moreover, the tests are carried out in intensive manner at the special quarantine hospital in Marnueli. As a result of the analyses conducted at that hospital so far, nobody has tested positive for coronavirus. The general situation in the region is stable, there is no food shortage, and the maximum assistance is provided to people. The measures are being continues in regard to lonely and elderly people who need help, as well as children. In addition, today, we will also deliver aid to 200 families, and this work will be continued in intensive way”, he noted.

Z. Darghalli stressed that the entry and exit ways to and from Marneuli region have been fully closed, while various control posts have been established by the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA).
