German Chancellor Angela Merkel has asked the CDU/CSU alliance to postpone their decision on whether to include Huawei on the list of 5G Internet providers until an EU summit in March, Reuters quoted sources involved in the talks as saying, APA reports citing Sputnik.

Germany has so far refused to exclude the Chinese tech company Huawei from the list of next-generation 5G Internet infrastructure providers, despite growing pressure from the United States. Merkel's government previously agreed to delay a decision for Germany's 5G network until next year in a bid to ramp up scrutiny of telecoms equipment suppliers.
