Parliamentary elections in Georgia that scheduled for autumn of this year may be postponed due to coronavirus, Irakli Kobakhidze member of Georgian Dream party said, APA’s Georgian bureau reports.

According to him, if the state of emergency is declared in the country in connection with the spread of coronavirus, and if this coincides with the period of promotion campaigns in summer months, then the date of parliamentary elections may be postponed 60 days after the situation backs to normal.

“Everything depends on global trends and how the situation will develop in Georgia. We hope that the problem will completely be resolved in the summer,” I. Kobakhidze said.
