The measures aimed at curbing the spread of the coronavirus in Poland will be extended until April 18, country's Health Minister Adam Niedzielski (pictured) announced on Wednesday, APA reports citing Teletrader.

During a press conference, Niedzielski stated that there has been a decline in both daily cases and deaths recorded in the country, but stressed that the figures misrepresent the reality, citing a "very difficult" situation in Polish hospitals.

The Polish health authorities registered a record increase in new COVID cases observed on a daily level the previous week, after which the trend turned slightly downwards.
