Turkey's Information and Communication Technologies Authority said on Tuesday it imposed advertising bans on several social media networks, APA reports citing Teletrader.
Social apps Periscope, Pinterest and Twitter don't have a local representative in Turkey and are, therefore, subject to fines, advertising bans and bandwidth reductions due to a new social media law.
Earlier this week, Facebook confirmed it had begun the process of assigning a legal representative in Turkey who would deal with complaints about content on its platform.
