The United Kingdom government is planning to impose a 14-day quarantine for people who arrive from Belgium due to a surge in coronavirus cases in the country, the Daily Mail reported on Thursday citing sources familiar with the matter, APA reports citing Teletrader.
According to the report, the new measures are set to be approved and announced later in the day.
On Wednesday, Belgium reported a 58% jump in newly registered COVID-19 cases between July 26 and August 1 compared to the previous week. Earlier, the UK introduced mandatory quarantine for arrivals from Spain due to a rising number of coronavirus infections.
