Ukraine records highest number of new COVID-19 cases since June

Ukraine has identified 1,106 new COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours as of 10 a.m. on July 25, APA reports citing Kyiv Post.

This is the highest number of new COVID-19 cases in Ukraine per day since June 26, when 1,109 new cases were registered.

On July 24, there was also a new record in coronavirus cases per day worldwide – 289,028 new cases, according to John Hopkins University.

In Ukraine, the largest numbers of new cases were registered in Kyiv (129), Rivne Oblast (143), Lviv Oblast (114) and Odesa Oblast (97).

The total number of infections identified in Ukraine since the start of the pandemic stands at 63,929. A total of 35,497 people have recovered and 1,590 have died of the disease.

Of all cases registered in Ukraine in the past 24 hours, 64 are children and 78 are medical workers.

In the past 24 hours, Ukraine has recorded 19 deaths from COVID-19, 205 patients have been hospitalized and 611 have recovered.

In total, 14,076 polymerase chain reaction (PCR) tests were administered across the country during the past 24 hours. In addition, Ukrainian laboratories carried out 17,884 antibody tests (ELISA), Health Minister Maksym Stepanov said at his morning briefing on July 25.
