Ukrainian medical workers recorded 3,939 coronavirus cases in the past 24 hours, an almost 30% increase from the previous day when 3,034 new cases were confirmed, Health Minister Maxim Stepanov wrote on Facebook on Tuesday, APA reports citing TASS.
"As of January 19, 2021, 3,939 COVID-19 cases were recorded in Ukraine, with 131 children and 238 medical workers contracting the disease," he noted.
Another 801 patients were hospitalized in Ukraine in the past 24 hours, 177 people died, while 15,052 patients recovered.
The total number of infected people has reached 1,167,655 since the start of the pandemic, 886,248 patients have recovered. So far, 21,046 fatalities have been reported nationwide.
